The r² workshop "Innovative Technologies and Services: Increasing Resource Efficiency through Integrated Product-Service Systems" took place on 11 May 2011 in Frankfurt. The morning session concentrated on the concept of product-service systems and approaches to their economic assessment. This was then followed by a corporate contribution from Kaeser Compressors. This company already has years of experience with product-service systems.

In the afternoon the participants had the opportunity to analyze their own situation. A lively discussion ensued and concrete ideas for value added potentials of product-service systems – based on the participants‘ situation – were developed – and relevant opportunities and risks were debated. The economic potential for different scenarios was also demonstrated.

The participants particularly appreciated the exposure to a structured approach to the subject matter, the interactivity of the workshop and the introduction of approaches and methods across industries.
